Accurate window measurements are the key to achieving the perfect fit if you opt for made-to-measure blinds for your home windows. You can order custom blinds from any reputed store that offers made-to-measure blinds in Leicestershire.  However, there is always a rule of taking measurements and providing the dimensions in centimetres to get the perfect fit for the window.

Here is a simple step-by-step guide on how to measure your window for perfect blinds.

Steps of measuring windows for a perfect customised blind

Get the right measuring tools

Before you start measuring, get the right tools. You will need steel tape to measure the window’s width and breadth. You will also need a pencil and paper to jot down the correct measurements. If you have taller windows or need blinds for windows near the ceiling, you will also need a ladder.

Decide on the mounting style

Where do you want to mount the blind?  Before you start the measurement, decide on the mounting style. Determine if you wish to mount the blinds inside or outside the window frame. This decision will help you get an appropriate measurement of the blind.

Measure the window

Using the measurement tape, measure the window’s width to the drop of the visible glass pane. Repeat this process in three different positions across the windows to get the smallest of the three measurements. Share this measurement with the supplier, and they will cut the blind and design it accordingly.

Measure the bead depth

While designing the blind, the supplier will ask about the bead depth. Ensure you take the bead measurements and get the bracket size for your blind clips. Place a card across the corner of the window frame and measure from the glass to the card to get the perfect bead depth.

Double-check your measurements

Accurate measurements are essential to get the best-fitted blind for your window.  Before placing the order, double-check your measurements. It is sometimes easy to make a mistake while taking the measurements. However, when you double-check, you can change the dimensions and fix the correct ones.
